Over the past year, we’ve had the pleasure of providing Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) services to an energy company that is a global leader in pioneering technology.
Our client offers products, systems, services, and software for the entire electricity supply chain. These solutions are designed to meet the growing demand for electricity and minimize the industry’s environmental impact.
Our client had the support of two fantastic RPO recruiters: Magdalena and Zosia. The girls sat down for an interview, giving us a glimpse into their day-to-day responsibilities.
Here are some of the questions they answer:
Ala: Hi, girls! I’m glad we can talk about your work for one of our clients. To start with, can you tell me how long you’ve been working for this client?
Magdalena: I’ve been working in this role for over a year. From the outset, I’ve recruited candidates for tech and R&D roles for the Technology Center in Kraków.
Zosia: It’s been a year for me, too. For the first three months, I supported the Kraków branch by recruiting candidates for IT positions. In October, I took over recruitment for the PGGI department, and I’m now recruiting mainly engineers and designers.
Ala: Let’s delve deeper into the types of roles you’re recruiting for. Can you tell me a little more about this topic?
Magdalena: I recruit candidates for typical tech roles, sometimes also for R&D positions. These are mainly Embedded Developers, Hardware Engineers, QA, .NET Developers, DevOps, and Frontend Developers. Occasionally, I handle roles that focus on soft skills, scrum masters, managers.
Zosia: Initially, I recruited candidates for such IT roles such as .NET Developers, C++ Developers, IT Application Managers. As I said, I’m handling a lot of engineering roles, including Primary Circuit Designers, Construction Managers, sometimes Purchasing Specialists. I’m pleased that I can work with this group. It could be said that I talk to candidates whose specializations range from design to construction. I feel that no role is unfamiliar to me. I enjoy talking to engineers. 😀
Ala: How many roles do you typically handle?
Razem: About 20, on average.

Ala: Wow, that sounds like a lot of work! Can you tell me something more about your responsibilities as RPO recruiters?
Magdalena & Zosia: We conduct end-to-end recruitment processes for our client. Our responsibilities include direct sourcing and conducting recruitment processes for applicants who reply to job advertisements, and those who come through recommendations or are referred to us by other agencies. The recruitment process involves screening such candidates, conducting job interviews, holding negotiations, presenting offers, and providing feedback. In addition, we’re responsible for keeping the internal database up-to-date, streamlining recruitment processes, and delivering an exceptional candidate experience.
Magdalena: Also, we actively engage in promoting the company at job fairs. We offer guidance, submit candidates for relocation, and conduct kick-off meetings with agencies.
Zosia: Oh, and we’re also involved in writing job descriptions, as well as choosing and holding negotiations with agencies.
Ala: Looks like you have a lot of work! 😀 What your thoughts regarding your role as RPO recruiters for our client?
Magdalena: I feel well and highly valued in my role. We work alongside experienced recruiters, and a lot of people are eager to share their knowledge. One major advantage is that you don’t feel like you’re working in a large corporation. The atmosphere is very casual, almost family-like. We efficiently resolve any issues that may arise (but such issues are rare).
Zosia: My experience working for this client has been very positive. All contractors (including us, as RPO recruiters) are included in the life of the company. We often hold business meetings, go to dinners, attend training sessions. We were invited to a team-building event. These small gestures are really nice. There’s a lot of work, but people are very friendly. RPO allows us to integrate into the client’s organizational structure.
Ala: What do you value most in your work?
Magdalena: We have ample opportunities for personal growth – we can come up with new meeting formats or templates. We have a lot of freedom, and we can showcase our creativity. In my work, I also value the relationship I have with the recruitment managers. It’s incredibly rewarding. I learn a lot from them, our interactions are both professional and friendly. We attend valuable meetings: training and knowledge sharing sessions, team meetings, gatherings with all recruiters throughout the company, local team meetings, team-building meetings. There is no distinction between contractors and permanent employees, which is really great.
Zosia: I agree with everything Magdalena said. I would only add that the biggest advantage of this work is that I have a lot of independence. The team gives me confidence. I work with professionals, we learn a lot from each other. The managers appreciate the recruiting team, and we get on really well – we are treated like partners. In addition, we can come to the office, create workshop groups with managers, and participate in various events (the Earth Day, the AGH Job Fair, Hackathons). Long story short, it’s great!

Ala: Your day-to-day work sounds really fantastic, girls. It’s clear you’ve formed a strong bond with the team and built rapport with the leaders. What have you learned over this past year? Have you encountered any challenges along the way?
Magdalena: The initial challenge when starting with this client was the number of jobs that had been vacant for a long time, so we had to focus on several roles at the same time. But Zosia and I quickly adapted to working in this environment. It feels completely natural for us at this point. Speaking of what I’ve learned, I’ve definitely learned to collaborate effectively with the recruitment managers.
Zosia: I’ve learned a lot about behavioral interviewing. We’ve had the opportunity to participate in additional internal and external training sessions. In this way, I’ve learned how to enhance the visibility of posts and use many new tools. Also, I started to use LinkedIn more efficiently.
Ala: Thank you, girls, for answering all these questions. It’s been an exhaustive interview. I know you’re very busy, and I don’t want to take more of your time, but I hope you can give me a quick answer to one last question. In terms of your previous experience, what insights have you been able to contribute to this project?
Magdalena: Those were definitely the ability to manage workloads and problem-solving skills. My business knowledge was certainly useful as well.
Zosia: Quick problem-solving skills and assertiveness. They have significantly improved the collaboration within the team and with the managers.
Ala: Great! Thank you very much for this interview. I’m sure it will help our readers learn more about the work of RPO recruiters.
